Two of CIBEL’s Higher Degree Research (HDR) students, Shuo Yang and Hui Pang, have been recognised in the UNSW 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition.

3MT is an academic competition which showcases UNSW’s PhD candidates. Competitors have an opportunity to display their research projects and argue the significance of their thesis in a three minute video using only one powerpoint slide. The 3MT Competition is a great platform for participants to share their knowledge with their peers and the broader UNSW community, with the added benefit of receiving potential feedback and insight into their work.

HDR candidates Shuo Yang and Helen Pang are part of the handful of students who received recognition for their projects in the competition.

Shuo Yang was awarded Joint Third Prize for her thesis on 'Reforming corporate governance laws of Chinese non-profit nursing homes' and the People’s Choice Award. Hui Pang, a Scientia PhD Student, received a Highly Commended award on her research project asking 'Can Investor-State Arbitration Compel States to Mitigate Climate Change?' Hui's 3MT Thesis was recently featured on the ABC Science Show on Saturday 25 September.
