Welcome to CIBEL Fellow Professor Heng Wang

Professor Heng Wang, former CIBEL Co-Director, became a CIBEL Fellow in January 2023.  During his time at CIBEL, Professor Wang worked alongside co-director Professor Deborah Healey to develop the profile of the Centre, strengthening partnerships with overseas universities, helping co-ordinate multiple research events locally and overseas, and leading new initiatives throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He has developed new expertise in international finance law, with a particular focus on Central Bank Digital Currencies.

Professor Wang remains part of the project team with CIBEL members Associate Professor Jonathan Bonnitcha, Associate Professor Kun Fan and Scientia Professor Ross Buckle for the Australian Research Council (ARC) 2022 Discovery Project titled ‘China’s Belt and Road Initiative: A New Model of Economic Governance?’, which explores the future of economic governance at the extra-regional level.

Currently, Professor Wang is Professor of Law at the Yong Pung How School of Law at Singapore Management University. The CIBEL team looks forward to continuing working with Professor Wang in the future.
