11 March 2024

On Friday 8 March, Professor Mimi Zou was invited by the Australia China Business Council (ACBC) to moderate a panel for International Women’s Day.

This inspiring event included panellists Merriden Varrall, Germaine Chua, Susan Wang, and Katie Hanna. Patrick Mayoh, ACBC NSW CEO, held the session’s opening remarks alongside Andrew Martin of MA Financial Group, and Acting Chinese Consul General Wang Chunsheng of the Chinese Consulate General’s office.

The panellists provided guidance on aspects important to women in the workplace and reflected on their experiences in their respective fields. Professor Zou led the group discussions on the significance of role models and mentors in their careers, women supporting women in their industries, gender bias and gender-related challenges in the workplace, and women in leadership and decision-making. The panellists offered their advice to young women who could learn from their experiences after reflecting on themselves during the early days of their careers.

The event was attended by business leaders from diverse sectors. Find out more here
